Pirrama Park (formally known as The New Park at the Former Water Police Site) on Sydney’s waterfront is a memorable public parkland for local users and the wider community.

The design for the new park complements and contrasts the character, use and space of the surrounding Pyrmont peninsula parks.

The design provides multiple new paths and a waterfront promenade around the Pyrmont foreshore, an important link in the 14km network of open space extending from Glebe to Rushcutters Bay. It re-instates the direct historic relationship between Harris Street and the harbour and creates a new public square at the water’s edge.

Significant marine engineering is proposed to create a sheltered bay and reveal the former shoreline, to create passive recreation opportunities at the water’s edge and strengthen the site’s historic relationship to Sydney Harbour.

A range of other park rooms are created which celebrate this unique location.
