ASPECT Studios was commissioned by the Sydney Olympic Park Authority to design an installation to commemorate significant sporting events held at Sydney Olympic Park.
Working in collaboration with Feeder Associates, ASPECT Studios developed a concept of an illuminated pathway, comprised of glowing coloured glass blocks, that leads out of the railway station through the central plaza.
The pathway contains bronze plaques that are inscribed each time a significant event occurs, allowing the installation to evolve over time in relation to the sporting history of the site.
ASPECT Studios role involved the resolution of construction detailing, management of the consultant team, and construction advice during installation. The fine detailing of the steel, glass and concrete element relates to its context in a high quality public domain.
