The greening of Playne Street is part of the Frankston Transit City rejuvenation project. ASPECT Studios undertook the design, consultation and documentation of the redevelopment.
In a process intended to create richer social outcomes and economic development, the greening of the street includes water sensitive urban design, indigenous trees, bicycle lanes, widened pedestrian pathways and the under grounding of services.
Extensive consultations were undertaken with local traders, community and Council to develop the streetscape palette guidelines, concept design, and the establishment of precincts that underpin the street’s structure.
ASPECT also led the process for the provision of major public integrated artwork for the street.
