Bacchus Marsh Community Centre will be a multi-use facility combining a library, Shire of Moorabool customer service facilities, visitor information centre and community meeting rooms.
The design is inspired by Bacchus Marsh’s distinctive and historically significant Avenue of Honour. The expressed steel structure is angled and braced to symbolise trunk and branch. The shape and orientation of windows on the main facade are representative of dappled sunlight through the tree canopy. The project includes many ESD initiatives, including ground source heat loop for heating and cooling, and rainwater harvesting to service the amenities.
To assist with the design development process Council sought the views of stakeholders and the community in relation to the design and functionality of the new facility. ASPECT Studios delivered realistic 3D visualisations to aid the communication and feedback process.
A Real-Time 3D Model was also developed: Click Here.
