Kirsten directs ASPECT Studios in Melbourne. She is highly reputable in landscape architecture and urban design and is passionate about sharing her experience in teaching and research development. She is an inspiring speaker at universities and conferences.

She is a former member of the National Council of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects and is a guest lecturer at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne School of Design and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology . She is an appointed panel member in the State of Victoria, Department of Planning and Community Development Melbourne 2030 Activity Centres Expert Assistance Program Panel and the Central Coburg Revitalisation Design Review Panel.

With over fifteen years experience in the disciplines of urban design, landscape architecture and design of public places, both in private and public practice, in Australia and overseas, her expertise lies in strong strategic direction and producing and directing leading edge design  She is also accomplished in complex transport and infrastructure planning and design projects.

 

Kirsten has contributed significantly to ASPECT Studios’ large scale and complex projects, design directing all projects including the Melbourne Convention Centre and South Wharf public realm, various projects in the Docklands, Artplay, the Tweed Heads promenade in northern NSW, award winning National Emergency Services Memorial in Canberra.

Kirsten’s responsibilities have included managing multi disciplinary teams and filtering divergent sets of information and issues into a clear and communicable form. Her track record in the management and design of projects is derived from her experience in university teaching and research, participation in design conferences, knowledge of current design exemplars, competitions and in the urban design debates of Melbourne.
