Jesse Sago

Studio Director

Bachelor of Design (Landscape Architecture) (Hons), RMIT Cert IV Horticulture, Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE

Jesse established ASPECT Studios digital division in 2005 and has over 9 years experience in the field of Digital Media.

His role as Studio Director involves directing the digital team and overseeing the management of projects to produce a full service suite of digital solutions in virtualreality, serious gaming, and architectural visualisation for communication to a loyal and growing client base.

With a background in landscape architecture and horticulture, he collaborates with his colleagues at ASPECT Studios to apply digital media solutions to a range of large and small projects which contribute to the overall rejuvenation of Australian and international cities. ASPECT Studios are  the first landscape architecture company to engage with digital technology in this way.

With a keen enthusiasm for leading edge technology and its use as a design tool, Jesse adopts an innovative approach to Landscape and Urban Design in the 21st Century. His forte is transforming ‘Virtual Reality into a design communicator’, applying strategic direction to all projects, with a particular understanding of large-scale design.

Jesse has applied his knowledge gained at university to real world situations. He’s adapted his skills and digital expertise to a variety of challenging and high profile projects such as the Victorian Desalination project, East Link, Docklands and the West Gate Freeway upgrade in Melbourne.

He is passionate about his role as a teacher and mentor. He lectures and teaches his unique methods for the use of 3D tools in the design process to students at RMIT and Melbourne Universities, as well as online collaborative studio work with Penn State University in the US.

His family background includes grandparents who were founders of the Society for Growing Australian Plants (SGAP), which has instilled in Jesse a great love of Australian native flora.
